This is a film I wrote and directed back in 2005. I shot it with a $300 Fuji Finepix SLR, using the digital video mode. I edited it on Windows Movie Maker. It features the legendary actor Michael Wright ("The Five Heartbeats", "Sugar Hill"--my screenplay which Beacon-Fox produced in 1994, which also stars Wesley Snipes, Abe Vigoda, the late O.L. Duke, and Clarence Williams, III--"The Interpreter", HBO's "Oz", and "Pinero"), an immensely talented cast of first time actors: Brent J. Cooper, Jonathan Peter Jackson, Courtney Wheeler, the real life art historian-curator-teacher-critic, Franklin Sirmans, Jessica Jordan, Tim Cutty, Jordan Ocean, Nur, and the late Larry Scott. The powerful and unforgettable paintings in the film are the work of the Baltimore, Md-based Scott (1957-2007), a fine artist whose work is truly magnificent. This was a true labor of love.
